2nd Session of AFRIBAT next October in Lomé: Preparations are going well

The preparations for the 2nd edition of the African Building Exhibition to be held in the Togolese capital Lome in October at the joint initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sfax (CCIS) and the CCI of Togo are well underway. Since the official announcement of this event during the Day of Togo on the occasion of the last edition of MEDIBAT, efforts to prepare and promote the show have not stopped on the Tunisian side as on the Togolese side.

It is expected, according to the latest information, that about fifty Tunisian companies building and related services will take the show in addition to Togolese and African exhibitors in general. A great interest for the participation in this fair has been shown by construction professionals in many countries. Recall that the first edition that took place in Yaoundé (Cameroon) on May 8, 2018 saw the participation of a hundred companies including 45 Tunisian companies.

Since its creation, AFRIBAT (a kind of African version of MEDIBAT) has continued to focus the attention of professionals as well as officials and economic and professional structures of several African countries. And for proof, the third session already has its host country namely Cameroon while the preparation of this second session is not yet complete. In addition to Cameroon (country of the start-up session), other countries have expressed interest in hosting the show in the coming years.

The exhibition’s preliminary program includes, in addition to the exhibition, an economic forum, an “Enterprise Space”, an “Innovation Contest” and “B to B” partnership meetings.

Delegations made up of senior officials, contractors, experts, researchers, urban planners and architects are expected to attend the show. The previous edition was marked by the participation of the Permanent Conference of African and Francophone Consular Chambers (CPCCAF), which had agreed to sponsor this new event, the first of its kind in the African continent.
