LOMÉ WELCOMES THE 2ND EDITION OF THE AFRICAN BUILDING FAIR AFRICA.

 

Present at the Mediterranean Building Exhibition (MÉDIBAT) held in Sfax in Tunisia from March 6 to 9, 2019, the CCIT organized this Thursday, March 7, 2019, a “Togo day” during which it officially launched the second edition of AFRIBAT, the sub-Saharan version of MEDIBAT to be held soon in Lome, Togo.

This day was co-chaired by Mr. Essohouna MEBA President of the CCIT and his counterpart of the CCI SFAX Mr. Ridha Fourati, in the presence of the administrative and political authorities of both countries. On behalf of Togo, Mr. Kueku-Banka JOHNSON, Director General of the Togolese Center of Exhibitions and Fairs (CETEF) represented the Minister of Commerce, Industry, Private Sector Development and Promotion of Local consumption.

It was an opportunity for the CCIT to present Togo with its potential in the building sector as well as the prospects and opportunities offered by its new National Development Plan officially launched on March 4, 2019.

Mr. Essohouna MEBA did not fail to recall the dynamism of Togolese economic operators by urging Tunisian businessmen to participate massively in AFRIBAT Togo from 22 to 27 October 2019 at the Togolese Center for Exhibitions and Fairs in Lomé. He reassured them of the arrangements that will be made to facilitate the transport of their goods to Lome.

In his address, Mr. Ridha Fourati emphasized the good relations that already exist between Tunisia and Togo. He underlined Togo’s strategic geopolitical position in West Africa and offers Tunisia the possibility of creating a hub to access the markets of neighboring countries.

In addition, he has committed himself as Chairman of the co-organizing institution of the African Building Exhibition (AFRIBAT Togo), to mobilize Tunisian companies involved in the event to take part massively in this event.
